OpenVPN error: Warning: route gateway is not reachable on any active network adapters: x.x.x.x




This error is typically caused by problem with Windows IP subsystem. The subsystem can be reset by:

  1. Login as Administrator or as a user which has administrator privileges
  2. Open a Command Prompt as found in the Start Menu
  3. Enter the following two commands one by one:
    • netsh int ip reset logfile.txt
    • netsh winsock reset catalog
  4. Reboot the computer
  5. Re-try connecting the VPN
